I have a Masters or a PhD from the United States, Do I HAVE to send my education from my country to be evaluated?
Yes, all applicants’ BS education is reviewed. Since your education is based in a foreign country, it is necessary for you to contact one of the evaluation companies online at www.fbpe.org . These independent companies will provide evaluations. This service allows your education to be reviewed to see if it meets the requirements of 61G-15-20-006 of the Florida Statutes and Rules. If the evaluation determines that you are lacking course-work, you will have to fulfill these requirements to be allowed to test for the examination.
My evaluation says that I am lacking Chemistry. I have taken it in high school, why do I have to retake this class?

We cannot advise you as to what classes to take. Please take your evaluation to the school you would like to attend and meet with the school advisors. They can better assist you as to what courses are available and what times that can accommodate your schedule. Our Education Board are members of the Florida colleges. So if the advisor suggest classes to you, it will be acceptable for our Education Board who are familiar with the coursework required to become EAC ABET accredited. If for some reason, you need for one of our Education Board member to review some ducation concern, please send syllabuses’, and/ or course descriptions. When the Board meets every other month, at that time we will then place your concerns about your coursework to them. However, I suggest that you use the School advisors at the school; they have your best interest at hand and are familiar what coursework you have previously taken. Do not duplicate any coursework that is on your evaluation.
I got a denial letter, what are my steps now, what do I do ? The Education Board reviewed your application and education and you are lacking coursework. FBPE sent you a denial letter explaining what was lacking. You need to get this letter back in within 21 days of receipt of you signing for it. You have three options.
First option is to check Option to Supplement. This is where you have 90 days to send in additional information, documents and/or any written documents. Second option- Informal hearing- This is where you disagree with the findings of the Education Board. This is where you can send additional information, education transcripts, syllabus, and/or any written documents to aid in removal of the denial. You do not need to attend, the Board will look at your file to see what new information you have to correct the findings. Third option is a formal hearing- This is where you as an applicant can plead your case. You will have to be present at the Board meeting at one of the many locations throughout the year it is held. At that time, they will make a final decision to your application and case.
